sssssssssss...

SSSSS... is for Sinbad and the sound our new member of the family makes. (Thanks Anthony... not)
After telling Anthony, 'Thanks, but NO', Shaw recieved this going away gift anyway from Anthony a buddy of his from work. He got it the night before he left to back to work for 2 weeks... yeah... great timing... not. He is kinda creepy but also kinda cool. I make sure the top is latched often and have yet to touch him. He sleeps a lot in his little blue house and finally ate his little pinky. Petco only sells frozen ones... which he does not like. I learned that the hard way and if anyone wants any frozen pinkies we have some in our freezer. gross. I got him a live one and he ate it after awhile. Poor baby mouse.

He is a Python. I asked Shaw if he bites and he replied... it wont hurt that bad if he does, he only has teeth not fangs... Not the answer I really wanted and is the reason I have yet to hold him.
So... Sinbad is added to our long list of things that are going to be a pain in the butt to move to CA.

A day before Shaw left for work he had a pile of sand delivered. When it was being poured out of the truck we both though... Bear Bear is going to love this.

Bear Bear... likes to sit on any type of mound. The side of the ditch... the hump at a base of a tree... Well.. we were right.

The Seahorns!

Josh and Ashley got married!

We drove down early and got to spend some time with Josh and Ashley before the festivities began. We hung out in down town Austin. I had fun! Ashley is a cool girl (just like me) and Josh is pretty fun too (like Shaw) Lets just say we all get along pretty well and it's too bad we don't live closer! (Not my favorite picture...my face looks a little wide)

The site was amazing. Shaw took some pictures but they are on his phone and he's at work... You can see the site online at... http://www.theplantatkyle.com/ VERY cool place... Good job Ashley!

California... Here we come

We have some news... We are planning on moving back to CA early next year. We are excited about it and ready for the change but will miss our Louisiana friends and family. Shaw is hoping to transfer with his company to off shore out there and I have the opportunity to work with kids with autism and neurotherapy. It is a little overwhelming thinking about the move. The selling, packing, driving with 2 cats and 2 dogs but we feel it is time and God willing everything will work out perfectly! That's all we really know now.... I will try to keep my blog updated with the latest.

But now it's time to celebrate. We are in Austin and my friend Ashley is getting married!!!! Whoop hoo

Some decorating...

See our new and improved bedroom decor.
Before is was a little blan with little on the walls and no other furniture besides the bed.
and now.....
Behind the bed are things that are made to hang in a door way. World Market ($50) 2 of them make a dramatic headboard that looks pretty cool when they move a little when the fan is on. I painted the 2 small paintings. I like the one on the left better and that's why it gets to be on my side of the bed.
A big cool Mirror I got from Marshals ($80). And a potted plant from outside.
We had all the the items in this picture. Frames my dad and I made. A chair my mom helped me recover before we moved here. A small table that my grandpa made. A palm and pot from the neighbors and some candels from a friend who visited Hawaii.

My side... and a close up of the beaded hippie door way thingys.

the door and the 4th and family visit

We have been busy.
We put in a new door, celebrated the 4th of July and had Shaw's parents in for a visit.
(not in order of apportance... its just the order the pictures uploaded)
The Door
Here is a before picture of the door.

Shaw working... he's so handy!

Taaa daaaa!

It's so nice and new. After it was up for a few days I kept thinking the doors were open it was so bright and open. We have only had one little boy run into it on the 4th. I mean he was running... boom. He was fine, not even a tear was shed. Im used to having an old yucky door and not knoticing the finger prints and doggy slobber I clean it often. I love my door so dont mind it one bit.

The 4th
Carlson's came over for a swim party.
See Michelle's blog to see a cute video of Cooper jumping in and saying Happy 4th of July.

Our Friends Dood or Denny or Keith and Heather. They got engaged on the 4th at our house with fireworks in the back ground. It was also her birthday. Congrats guys, we are happy for you!

A big one.

Boom Boom Booom

The in-laws
We had a fun time with Shaw's parents, Robert and Mellody. It was a little warm (understatement) so spent most of our time inside on the couch, cooking in the kitchen or at the store. They went in the boat one morning and they helped us put in the door along with some other little projects.

We always ate well thanks to Robert! Yummm.

Ultimate Tribute Dance Party

We were sad to hear about Michael Jackson's death.
Shaw and I were talking and think the Michael Jackson that made all that great music died awhile ago. He got weirder and weirder as time went on.
We do love his music.
What better way to celebrate his life, then blasting his music and dancing around.

being sad.

we played it all.

dancing... complete with glove!
Shaw... moonwalk.
