Beach Day

We took the dogs to Waveland, MS (about 30 mins drive) to frolic in the sand and surf. They had a good time... they told us so. Arf Arf Arf.

Bear Bear loves to just sit in the water.

A game of chase.

Our cool neighbors dog Nola... being her scruffy self.

Say Hello...

Say Hello to our new ride... We got a Mazda3 hatchback. It's an 04 and has 82,000 miles. It's a fun 5 speed and very speedy. We were able to buy it out right so it's all ours.

One of our 1st adventures will be to cram our big dogs into the back and cruising to the beach. yo.

The red on the seat looks better in person.
We also have a date to tint the windows soon.

We are still trying to think of a good name... if you have any suggestions... all names will be accepted and discussed.

This car has the fancy free factor. I got a nod and a wink from a fellow traveler on the interstate today. I'll need to keep an eye on my wanna be fancy free husband and the Mazda.

Say Goodbye...

GOODBYE to our Saturn... it's gone and officially totaled. Gap insurance is our friend.

You know what that means.... NEW CAR.

Here are some celebration shots when we
got the official news that we were
financially free and clear.

My Mom got Married!

My mom got married.
We had a fun night and everything went as planned, if not better.
My mom looked beautiful and she could not have been more happy.

2 years and 6 months ago we were standing under the same tree as newly weds.

We danced the night away and were the last to leave the party! It was a very fun time. We were so glad we got to see and visit with so many friends and family.

Gustav the Great

Hurricane Gustav came blowing through. After a fun filled week in CA and my mom getting married our flight Monday was canceled. I guess they don't like to fly through hurricanes?!?! So the plan was to fly into Dallas and drive back. We got continuous updates about the storm and our house from our cool neighbors. We got into Dallas, stayed with our fun friend Ashley for the night and prepared for the drive home. We drove from Dallas across the top of Louisiana into Mississippi through Jackson and down into St Tammany Parrish in hopes to avoid the storm and traffic. We avoided the traffic but drove right through tropical storm Gustav was quite interesting.

Here is the sight we drove up to.

and after a little clean up....

We are thankful for many things.

*Our dog children who were in our garage at the time of destruction escaped unharmed.
*Shaw has gap insurance on his car... so we are hoping it's totaled.
*The tree didn't hit the pump which is on the other side of the garage, so we have water.
*Our neighborhood was only our of power for 24 hours so freezer and some fridge items are still good.
*Shaw's not at work. =)
*We are now prepared with generator, chainsaw and plenty of food for the next storm to come... which may be sooner than we think.

we would like to thank Michelle for making us bloggers... we are now a part of the bloggisphere.
