3 months

We have been having so much fun these past few weeks. Remi has been a happy happy boy.
We had our first road trip. Success. We went up to Oroville to see Grandma Bonnie. Remi did better than I expected him to in the car for the 6 hr drive. On the trip up and the trip home he was good up to the last hour then he was over it. (so was I) Having Brooks in the car was a huge help. I dropped her off to visit family in the Sacramento area. At grandma's we hung out with Aunt Tammy and Uncle Mick, went to church (and did not make a peep the whole service) and enjoyed all the yummy food grandma prepared us. Remi was such a happy boy and gave everyone who smiled at him a smile back. The goofy voices helped too I am sure.

It's amazing how fast this little guy is growing. He is 14 lbs and an active little boy. He is usually wearing 6 month tops and 3 months bottoms. He's got a puggy little neck that usually has leftovers from the previous meal. He's a spitty kid and it's amazing he can still grow so much for how much he spits up sometimes. We are prepared and are getting quite good at catching it. We use a lot of bibs and burp rags =) We have just started doing baths in the big bath tub. He enjoys kicking and playing and this saves my kitchen sink area from getting flooded.
Remi is slowly getting into toys. He loves his play mat with the toys hanging over him. We position him so when he kicks he can make the whole thing shake and move. It's super fun. It may be a little early for the Jonny Jumper... but he loves to stand and enjoys it for a short while. Tummy time is getting better and he is enjoying it for longer. Just these past few days he has been scrunching his legs way in that he rolls over to his sides. I think his number one toy may be his hands and a burp rag.
Remi is finally noticing the dogs. He looks at them and watches their tails wag. The dogs are still not really sure what to think about Remi but they do love seeing us get the stroller ready... That's their signal to get excited.

Shaw and Remi playing before dad-d00 had to go back to work. We have lots of fun with dad while he's home. I love seeing these boys together and enjoy our family time. Shaw and I were able to get some time away from our little buggaboo. Brooks and Jared watched Remi one afternoon and Shaw and I went for a motorcycle ride and out to lunch at local fish restaurant Pier 46. It was pretty fun and YUMMY. Another day while Grandma Thompson (MoMo) and Remi hung out we checked out a happy hour at Que Pasa... impressive place for Atascadero and my margarita was tasty

Amazing how much this little boy has grown on us... and it's only been 3 months.

Sad Day... Goodbye FooMan

Sad day on Florence St.

Foo Man used up his last of his 9 lives. He lost a battle with a car while crossing our busy street.

Foo was a great kitty. Pretty Kitty with a crazy personality.

He is survived by his parents, brothers, Woody and BearBear, sister, Choo and new brother Remi.

Our dog cat. Loved laying around with the boys, BearBear and Woody.

Practicing for Remi's arrival using a carrier. Foo was a big baby and loved to nurse on his special fleece blanket... "mommy blanket."

Bear Bear and Foo snuggling. We got him cause his colors were so simular to BearBear... pretty kitty!

His favorite play items were never cat toys... dryer sheets, bobby pins, socks, hair bands

We will miss your crazy kitty!!!

Christmas!!!

It was a pretty awesome Christmas for us. We feel very blessed to be living where we are surrounded by ones we love and ones that love us. We enjoyed time with my mom, sisters and their families. Miss the Carlson's but got great news on Christmas that the boys, Remi's cousins' Cody and Tucker, are out of intensive baby care and are gaining weight perfectly. We got some good time in with the Thompson's as well and always eat well when we are at their house.

Mama and Remi- Christmas Morning- I was spoiled with a new dutch oven, a old piggy bank that belonged to my Grams. (love it) a new dish drying rack and nursing tank (which is really for Remi)
Dadoo and Remi- chilling to a movie Christmas afternoon. Shaw got a new full faced motor cycyle helmet and riding gloves as well as a knife sharpner.

Remi was a trooper, behaved at all of our holiday parties and slept well at night. He is one spoiled little baby! He recieved some awesome clothes including hand made pj pants with footies and camo crocks from Grandma and Grandpa Pecot. A few room decor items from friends and a few toys from us. A new savings account from Momo and Papa. He also got a matching piggy bank to match mine.

We did get a family photo... but it's on a different camera. Hopefully will be getting family pictures done soon for Remi's birth announcements and christmas/new year cards.

Looking forward to the time between this Chrsitmas and next... It's going to be a great year!

Remi Mikel has arrived!

Remi Mikel Thompson is here!!!!

Remi made his debu Sunday morning at 8:04. He weighed 8 lbs 1 oz and measured 20 3/4.
The name was decided in the labor room a few mins after he came out. He was screaming and seemed more like a Remi than Miles. I think if he would have been calm, cool and collected we would have a Miles... but Remi fits him perfectly!

Remi looks exactly like Shaw in his baby pictures. He has long fingers and big feet like me. I think he has a little dimple in his chin like the Schlecht side. We will see who he starts to grow and look more like. He's got a bunch of dark hair which is already getting lighter.
We have had a lot of visitors and Remi has most everyone fooled that he rarely cries...
Grams- She's had a busy week... grandsons' times three. Remi is exactly one week older than his Texas cousins Cody and Tucker... Although they were born at 27 weeks so we are unsure who is REALLY technically older.

Can't get this photo to rotate. Momo... Shaw's mom is very excited... it's her 1st grandchild.
Chilling at home. Remi has been great. Fitting in well.

love looking at our little man. I think he's the smartest, cutest and best baby ever... although that might be my crazy mommy hormones.
Here is how it all went down...

I felt different on Saturday morning... few cramps. I was ready and hoping it was it. At about 6 pm we started timing the contractions. They were 10-15 mins apart. We chilled out tried to get some sleep while I watched the clock. At about midnight they were more consistent 1 every 4-5 mins uncomfortable but not super crazy (now I know what super crazy is). We went to the hospital got monitored and was 2.5 cm. walked around to try to get it to progress, 2nd time being monitored my contractions were coupling- 2 strong ones together, 5 min break (less consistent) and checked again 3 cm. The nurse called the Dr on call, they suggested we go home. The nurse said they have often sent people home at this stage and not seen them back is 2-3 days. BUMMED I took the vicoden they gave me and we went home to 'rest'. This was at 3:30am. Good thing we live so close to the hospital because at 5:30 the pain was bad bad bad. I was nervous to go back after just being sent home and them to be like nope sorry your only a 4. We rushed back, they wheeled me up all quick. Checked me this time and I was at 8 cm. Missed my chance for the epidural (which was the one thing I did not think/want to happen). I got some demeral after 3 pokes to start an IV... did not care... just wanted/needed some meds. It HURT more than I would have imagined! (although in my head the epidural was not going to be missed) Demeral made me loopy for about 10 mins then it HURT again. Dr. Stanislas was on call. She was much to calm and cool and collected for the situation but just another day for her. I pushed for about 30 mins. HURT! Everyone kept saying we can see his hair... My response to them was "well get him out then." His pulse dropped some so they did a vaccume assist which was awesome because I NEEDED him to get out and the pain to stop. It was amazing feeling the pressure relief when his head was out. Small Pressure for the body then had this LARGE thing screaming and moving around. I tore a little (TMI); feeling and seeing her sew me up was odd. Good think I was distracted by my baby on my belly.
Yea- for a healthy baby boy but OUCH!

Shaw was awesome throughout the whole process. Cut the cord even with his squemish belly button issues and encouraged me through it all. He is a pro at changing poopy diapers and swaddling.
I am better and better each day. I felt like I was hit by a bus for 2 days, amazingly sore for 5 days and feeling pretty good 8 days out! Still moving slow and limiting my movement.

The dogs and cats are interested. Dealing with the decrease of attention and coping with the screams. I'm looking forward to going for a walk.

Welcome Remi!
We love you!
